Early Childhood Collaborative
Bringing together families, educators, healthcare providers, and community organizations to support healthy child development and school readiness in Middletown.
Working Together to Support Early Childhood in Middletown
The Middletown Early Childhood Collaborative brings together educators, healthcare providers, community organizations, families, and local leaders to support the healthy development and school readiness of young children.
By working collaboratively across programs and services, the partnership helps strengthen communication, improve access to resources, and ensure families can find the support they need during the early years of childhood.

Local Governance Partnership (LGP)
Each CT city/town has a Local Governance Partnership that’s responsible for making recommendations about the Early Start grant program. The LGP is jointly appointed and convened by the municipality’s chief elected official, such as the Mayor, and the Superintendent of Schools.
LGP Members Include:
- The chief elected official or designee
- The superintendent of schools
- Parents and other community members
- Representatives from a range of programs that provide early education and child care
- Representatives from the community who provide services to children and their families — like librarians and healthcare providers
- See our list of members for more information about who serves on the Middletown Early Childhood Partnership (LGP)
